My picks: awesome, affordable wines
Let’s be honest, everyone loves finding good deals.
Why spend $30 on a less-than-mediocre bottle of wine if you can find a great one for less? If you’re looking to grab a some vino to relax with at home while catching up on Modern Family or you’ve been invited to a dinner party and don’t want to show up with a bottle of Yellowtail but also don’t want to break the bank, check out these affordable red wines that are guaranteed to please. Please note wines are in no particular order.

Crios Malbec, $10. Crios is my favorite of all Malbecs. Prices have been increasing a bit for South American, especially Argentinean, wines as the “trend” catches on.
Ménage a Trois California Red, $9. Don’t let the title intimidate you. Even if you don’t care for reds, the exposure of California jam-like fruit in this blend might change your mind. Its always a group favorite!
Casillero del Diablo Carmenere, $10. Despite its name, this wine is anything but evil. This selection is a bit spicy with red fruits, a hint of chocolate and coffee. Yum yum.
Rex Goliath Merlot, $6. This is a wine that has been near and dear to my heart since college. I believe people are picking up on my little secret because I have recently noticed increased advertising as well as increased price from under $4 (yes, you read that correctly) to its current $6 price tag which is still quite the deal. Skeptics beware! This wine is far superior than its price tag.
Penfolds Koonunga Hill Cabernet Merlot, $9. Koonunga Hill is an everyday drinking wine from Penfolds and is quite tasty. Brilliantly balanced cab-merlot blend… best of both worlds!
Salute!
